May all beings be free from suffering and the root of suffering…

May we engage the eagle eye to scope the beauty from on high

May we peer deep into the depths of each and every heart to find a place of healing and renewal

May we give of our hearts and honor our connections to each other and the earth Mother

May we each find the center of our prayer and move out into the world from there

May all beings be free from suffering and find our place within the work…

May all of our sisters know our fullness and fill our girls with empowerment and joy

May each of our brothers find their place as Protectors and teach every little boy

May the wisdom of the elders make way for the innovation of or youth

May the results manifest in the fruition of our ultimate truth

May all beings be free from suffering and find the root of connection

May we step inside our hearts and shed the cloaks of fear

Honoring our pain breathing through to sweep the pathway clear

May we recognize our interdependence in the smallest of things

May we all know the beauty and connection that kindness brings

May all beings be free to love and know the beauty of its power to awaken and strengthen our resolve

May we embrace eachOther with the loving strength of the great holding.

May we release eachOther from shame and blame with great allowing

May we remove the masks and speak to eachOther showing our true loving faces

May we be comfortable in our silence together in the resting places.

May all beings be free from suffering and the root of suffering

May we forgive others as graciously as we tend to excuse ourselves

May we find the clarity of vision for our deepest prayers

May we hold the prayers of our beloveds sacred in our hearts

May all beings be free from suffering and the root of suffering…

May we find the way to love eachOther anyway.

*****Since it is the day of giving truth to tradition, I share this prayer  written for my sister Rochelle one year ago, on “Thanksgiving” morning

Little Rock Big Sister

My sister is fasting today.
This, a day of mourning… she prays…
She prays with every breath every day anyway…
walking in connection with her truth.

Three massacres on this very land, travel through her heart and veins… it’s in her DNA.

So today, neither food nor drink shall pass her lips.

For this is a day of mourning.
This is a day for prayer…

No matter where we go or what we do or who we do it with—
Every one of us Everywhere—gathered or alone—have something to be thankful for—

We call Turtle Island home.

And still many sit around the table with family we don’t know and try to come in a good way

try to soothe the guilt with turkey gravy and obligatory thanks

perpetuate a HIStory they’d rather wipe away…

But My Sister—She is fasting.
This, a day of mourning… she prays for everyone, she prays for you.

She prays with every breath every day anyway
and every day she mourns by walking in connection with her truth.
Three massacres on this same land, travel through her heart and veins… it’s in her DNA.

And so today
, neither food nor drink shall pass her lips.

For this is a day of mourning.
This is a day for prayer…
May every blessing we receive—every thanks we give—
every toast we make—every table we grace Honor those who today are living the historical trauma to be carried by our future replacements.

Please honor our sisters and brothers and aunties and uncles and grandmas and grandpas who hold us now in prayer…

And the ancestors—every one who prayed us here—and even those who stole their breath.

Pray.
Pray in any way.

This IS all HIStory and it’s happening right now.
And those who’s gave their bodies for the fuel we call to keep in the ground…
And so we have to stand.

please… take a moment to listen for HERstory… and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory and HERstory… For we are rewriting a blessed path…
