The Lily Pad

I think about frogs from time to time.
They’re actually great for a good metaphor. Probably started with the frog prince… Either way frogs have always gotten a good rap. I appreciate them for their tenacity and attention to the good life.
Can you feel the proverbial frog story comin’?

I opened my email this morning to the daily quote from Abraham-Hicks.
It’s not necessary for you to exacerbate your contrast with struggle in order to get it into a higher place. It is not necessary to suffer in order to give birth to desire. But when you have suffered and you have given birth to desire, so what? You’ve got a desire. Turn your attention to the desire. Think about where you’re going and never mind where you’ve been. Don’t spend any more time justifying any of that stuff

It was a good one, really said it all, so why do I have to elaborate on it? expostulate upon it? Give it my take? Cuz I can… This topic always makes me think about frogs. And…. we could use to learn a little something from the froggies…

Ever noticed a frog lampin’ on a lily pad? A lily pad is good for basking in the sun, taking a break on the way across the pond, but never for too long. Why? because eventually they sink.

Ahh… yes.. the metaphor….

If My focus is the frog, and where it lands be the lily pad, then how can I learn from the froggie?

When the lily pad begins to sink, the frog jumps off. It is the only logical next choice.
Rather than the humanly logical method which is to cling on till death or insanity ensues.
When the lily pad begins to sink, does Mr. frog call his froggie friends to tell them the pad is sinking?
Does he invite them onto the pad to sink it with him?
Does he pay a therapist thousands of dollars to take him into his past to understand why the pad may be sinking? Does he blame his parents? Society? The government?

No…
He just jumps off, either into the pond, whereby he can swim around for a bit, come back to the surface and choose another lily pad, or swim to shore and try being on level ground till he catches his breath… he may float for a while…
But dammit…. he hops off that lily pad…

I like froggies.
